Versions of SentinelLM used with EMA Software

Releases of EMA software (EMA3D, MHarness) have used either version 6.2 or 7.2 of the Sentinel License Manager license key system from Rainbow Technologies, with the exception of the 64-bit Linux version which uses Reprise License Manager from Reprise Software. To determine which version of SentinelLM your installation of EMA3D or MHarness is using, use one of the following methods:
  1. consult the chart below
  2. run "lsver" as described below
  3. run the "Show Machine ID (for licensing)" shortcut which also shows the SentinelLM version (Windows only)

EMA software and SentinelLM versions chart

software
version
SentinelLM version
EMA3D "3.0.0" and later
SentinelLM v7.2
"3.0b1.1" (beta versions of EMA3D version 3) and earlier
SentinelLM v6.2
linux 64-bit, "3.1.3" and "3.1.2"
Reprise LM v3.0
MHarness "3.2.1" and later
SentinelLM v7.2
"3.2" and earlier
SentinelLM v6.2

How to run "lsver" to determine which version of SentinelLM licensing software your installation of EMA software is using:

Using a command prompt (on either UNIX or Windows), go to the "lic" subdirectory or folder of the EMA software installation.  Run the command "lsver" to display the version information:

windows prompt> .\lsver

or

unix prompt$ ./lsver

If there is no "lic" subdirectory or folder or no command named "lsver", then your software installation may be using some other licensing system (much older versions of EMA3D and MHarness used another licensing system).  Contact EMA for more information if this is the case.

Special Note for 64-bit Linux:

If you are running on 64-bit Linux (EMA3D CD version 3.1.2 or 3.1.3), you will not find the command "lsver". Instead, you can run the command "rlmver":

unix prompt$ ./rlmver

Start Menu Shortcut on Windows

For Windows, there may be a shortcut on the Start Menu which can be used to display machine locking codes. The machine locking code display also shows the SentinelLM version.

Start Menu --> Programs --> EMA --> <EMA software product> --> Show Machine ID (for licensing)

<EMA software product> will be something like "EMA3D v3.1.0" or "MHarness v3.2.2", depending on the product and version installed.
